July 1st

11C o/c. And here we are in July!! Where's summer?
Had one of those enlightning moments yesterday. Y'know the kind where you suddenly see something that was before you all the time but not seen because we often  don't see everything that lies or stretches out before us.
In this case it was at the bowling club  (where else?) - Our club is a microcosm of the world. We have all kinds of people and small groups, aging is present, poor sports, good sports, a variety of backgrounds, some are wealthy, some not so much, there are good losers and bad winners, some work very hard and some avoid the drudgeries that make it a club. But yesterday when an announcement was made about the struggle one of our members was going through with a serious illness, the forty odd people that were present came together like a family and for a few moments they were a united entity. I would like to think that the genuine feeling that could be felt in that room some how sent out a message of care and perhaps added strength to our friend in his current struggle. We went back a few minutes later to what can only be described as the norm, but for me there was an impression left and hopefully I will look at everyone a little differently in the future.
More of Jerry soon.
