I've been meaning to comment on the black and white photo down a ways on the right hand side.
I copied this from where some one had posted it to a "Group" I started on facebook. The poster said he thought it was from the 40's or 50's. I copied it because I am positive the lady in the long dress is my grandmother which would make one of those kids in the water as none other than yours truly. This would then make the picture dated in the summer of 1944. The building is the Garden Bay Hospital where "my" Pearce family were featured.
The kids would be a couple of the Pearces and myself. I have looked in vain to see Grandma's newfoundland dog, Colonel, he wouldn't have been far away.
Another day I'll add a few Colonel stories.
