Our agm went well yesterday, it is always rewarding to see those who have their own agendas eventually are seen and then dismissed.
I guess that actually reflects how the world works on a different scale.
The hawk just visited the back yard, I haven't seen it for some time. It doesn't shoo easily, almost like he/she challenges me to do something.

Now lets see, what’s in store for all of you? Of course I can't do that as individuals but I think what’s in store for your world as you grow up and become adults may be more realistic.
There are so many things -- but I guess the best way is to try and open my mind and see what pops out!
The other day was the big loggers rally in Victoria (march 20, 1994) protesting something called the CORE report. I believe that in the next ten years there will be significant reductions in the amount of timber that will be cut in British Columbia , I think that the major companies will withdraw from the scene and perhaps relocate in Russia . The government will try and come up with new procedures for selling and managing the timber resource but they won't in the end be new ways, they will be old systems resurrected which will in turn fail, not because they were /will be wrong but because of the human factor.
I believe that natives in Canada will continue to gain strength and if we can get through a phase where bloodshed is possible, they may very well have absolute control of much of the land base and a new confederation may have to be born. The role of new immigrants and their ways and ancient feuds is something I fear in the future of Canada ; will we awaken to the threat in time?
I believe you will see people residing in Space Stations for the better part of their lives, the question is will this be for peaceful purposes and the conquest of space or for the conquest of earth.
Mining on the moon and nearby planets? Very likely, it will only depend on the presence of needed minerals.
What is the greatest threat to our mother earth? POLLUTION!
Not so much from the presently recognized sources as I feel we will eventually bring those to a level that they no longer are a threat, but what about something very simple such as our very ordinary household and industrial waste and garbage.
Where will we continue to put it? Presently the oceans are the receptacles for much of it, they will die! We cannot continually have landfills; the earth can only swallow so much. Eventually the poisons we place into the ground and our waters will leach out and destroy land and water resources. Now there's a challenge for someone! Discover, invent, create a system to save the earth from human waste!
Television! I am sure 3 D TV is just around the corner for household use. How about home audience participation in talk shows and game shows.
Highways where cars travel by remote control, perhaps in the next 50 years. The same for aircraft, complete computerization of passenger aircraft, why not? Recent developments so that countries could kill their enemies without seeing them has brought us sophisticated guided missile systems. Remember what I said before, let’s not waste those lives, let’s convert the concept to peaceful uses.
Medicine: I am sure there will within 10 years be a cure for AIDS, Cancer? Probably longer because there are so many different kinds and it is like mutant cell development. But I am sure that too will happen and probably some of the more common types that are relatively easy to treat will first be conquered.
I don't believe we will see a cure for the common cold ever!
Alzheimers and other illnesses associated with aging will see much alleviation, but not a total cure for all of them. Unfortunately, because we are living longer the diseases of age are becoming more prevalent in our society. There are too many, the cost is too high and the priorities for a host of reasons are put on those diseases that affect the most and the youngest (as it should be).
