0 C and sunny.
I prepared 3 salmon for smoking the night before last and did 2 of them yesterday. It took all day in this cooler weather and am doing the 3rd one today. One tray of honyed , one tray of pepper and spices and the rest brined only. Hope it lasts for Christmas.
I mentioned yesterday about the reset on your router: I found out that this will also negate the name and password for your wireless outlet, that needs to be reset.
Team bowls this morning at10am.
I am leaving the boat plugged in these days - ie a light bulb under the engine block. Also bought an infra red heat bulb for inside the motorhome. When it gets colder I will leave the electric heater going.
Here is some more of my father's paragraphs.

The second.
So the Black Ball Ferry is giving us poor service. Do you remember how, a very few years ago it took 45 hours to get here on a slow, smoky Union Steamship Co. boat? These boats stopped at every gate post enroute up the coast so you spent most of your weekend traveling, then as now. When you arrived here the only mode of transportation was shanks ponies or an inadequate if sincere clunk called a “taxi”. How many of us trundled our goods up the wharf in a wheel-barrow? Today we can drive a low, sleek, high finned mechanical monster called a “car” to our door.
Maybe the great fixer of all things, Premier Bennett will conjure up a fleet of ferries to improve on the Black Ball service.
If he wants to pay me 6% I will beg or borrow a couple of bucks to put in the deal. It will be a good idea as the Province will not go into debt, we will just acquire another “contingent liability”.
The Third.
In my opinion a home is not quite complete if a dog is not numbered as one of the residents of the house. At the moment we are without one of “mans best friends”. Our last one resided with us for eighteen happy years.
Actually it is not practical for us to have a dog now as neither of us are at home a great deal and a dog needs his family about him. This reminds me of that great writer of dog stories, Albert Payson Terhune who said following the tragic loss of one of his collies, “I am never going to give my heart to another dog to be torn out.”
In spite of that I know we will; kids(human), dogs, horses and cats in that order are hard to resist.
A few weeks ago I said that I did not want to be a pale image of known columnists. Methinks Barry Mather has a lot of pets that appear in his writings. Even Harold Wier has his cats. On second thought these eminent members of the third estate have apparently set a precedent so I guess I had better acquire a pet of some kind if I want to arrive.
Maybe I will come up with something besides dogs, horses and cats – I like kinkajous.
