14C sunny.
Not much sleep last night but the sunny morning is welcome.
Picked up 10 copies of "the book" yesterday.
Today I have to do the draw for bowling, it's also donut day so usually a big turnout which sometimes confuses things.
dead-headed all the tulips, daffs yesterday. Should also do the Rhodos I guess.

You’re a squatter and not
only is this shack mine but so is this whole island!”
Bob stopped and then replied
in an even tone, “You’re nuts girl. I’ve been living here for months and you’re
trespassing.”
“ I don’t care how long
you’ve been living, er squatting here. This place is mine and you, bucko are
the trespasser!”
They stared at each other for
a few moments. Bob realized that she was older than he first thought and he
couldn’t help but think, ‘she’s damn pretty.’
Bob was the first to speak
again, “Look, I’m tired, I’m dirty and I’m covered in blood and I need to hang
this side of deer. Can we put this aside for a little while so’s I can get this
thing hung and get cleaned up a bit?”
Alicia stared for a moment
longer then nodded “Go ahead I just started a fire I’ll put some water on to
heat.” She had no sooner said the words than she mentally kicked herself. ‘Don’t
be stupid, girl. Don’t go soft.’
However she turned and as he
picked up the side of deer once more she turned and poured some water from a
bucket into the old enamel basin sitting on a wooden apple box. She put it on
the stove and then put more wood on the fire.
She picked up her gaff again
and leaned it against the foot of the bed, then sat next to it.
A moment later Bob stepped
through the doorway. “I should skin that thing out first.” He said half aloud.
Without thinking Alicia said,
“You clean up I’ll do that.”
“You? You’ll …” Bob stopped
and shrugged. “Go ahead if you think you can.”
Alicia jumped to her feet and
slipped past and out the door taking her knife from its case as she went.
She had hunted all her
teenage years and the years she had spent as a wildlife technician had often
required she dress out game.
She had the hide off and
rolled into a bundle by the time the water had warmed and Bob had washed. When
she went around to the door he was standing with his back to her, stripped to
the waist. Looking at his body she realized that he was younger than what she
had thought thanks to the abundance of whiskers and hair.
