16C bright sun

The tournament went well yesterday. I think everyone had a good time at least teh weather cooperated.
Watched a movie with our up island friends. "Geisha" I fell asleep in the middle so went to bed.
It will be nice to sit out on the deck having coffee this morning.

Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers out there.

I had forgotten but your grandma one day gave me a wooden box and told me to keep it safe. I just remembered a few minutes ago.”
Alicia had done as she was told and after rummaging about found an old wooden box pushed under the eaves. She brought it down to her mother and they had opened it together. Amongst the papers and notes there was the brown paper map and a witnessed document that stated that the island known by the Indian name of Go’nsay in the Sound known as Barkley was given over to the exclusive use of Marcet Aleuta  the daughter of Chief Daniel Aleuta and her heirs for all time. The document was signed by the Governor General of Canada. Marcet Aleuta was her grandmother’s name.
The next day Alicia went to the local bank and deposited the document in a safety deposit box.

Chapter 7

Bob was elated. He went to his prize, pulled out the arrow then dragged her away from the watering holes. He took out his filleting knife and  cut the does throat.
He went back and retrieved his pack and shouldered it then going back to the deer he took her two hind legs and dragged her across the out crop and down onto the beach.
At the waters edge he proceeded to open the carcass and pull out the innards.

He sliced off a piece of the liver and went higher up on the beach. He prepared and lit a small fire and roasted the several strips of liver over the open flame.
He went back to the deer, picked up the heart and the rest of the liver and headed along the beach towards his raft.
A half hour later he grounded the raft beside the deer and dragged it on board. He went back to his hunting blind and retrieved the oar he had found the day before.
Bob now had two oars, one longer than the other but decided that if he could fashion oarlocks he could use them and make better time. He thought about pounding the one oarlock in with a rock but as it was brass he figured it would break or at least bend.
