May 2 - Day 9

7C and sunny

Yesterday was strange, and talking to the kids it was the same for them, kind of fog like, in a daze.
Both M and I spent the day copying , pasting all the kind things that have been sent by email or facebook.
I downloaded another copy of Wolf Dreams for Alan's friend Jas and took it to the printer to be bound.
I talked to the other boys last night. I did stir up enough energy to go and get an INR at the lab so that will make my doctor happy - y'know a phone call to give the results and a bill to the government!
I got all of Alan's poems into a word document which is a bit of a chore to convert and correct from PDF format.
I saw that my readership was up yesterday - welcome and visit often. I will go back and finish the story I started months ago and if you look back through the entries over the last two years you will find stories and poems that may stir your interest.

The Mountain
Climbing the forbidding granite wall,
I feel my fingers peel and bleed.
My toes curled and bruised,
Salted drops stinging my eyes.
Putting total trust in my partner
I lunge for the hold
I hang panting, waiting
For the burn to subside
His cajoling from above
Forces me upward
To stretch out once again
Feel the purchase so slight
"lt gets easier higher"
He calls from his lofty perch
If only I had him to goad
Every day when I climb
Not every mountain is stone
Not every fall vertical
I've been falling for years
And it's never gotten easier
