10C and rain; twas summer one day last week.
Bowled yesterday then again in a competition last evening - we lost and in the rain at that!
Had a nice hot tub when we got home.
Today is our 25th anniversary but we agreed that celebrating it would be postponed as we don't seem to be in a celebratory mood right now.
Will continue looking for a small pick-up truck today as we have decided we need one for the usual household/yard chores.

just after she started she paused as it suddenly struck her how similar that meeting had been to hers and Bobs situation. When she stopped Bob looked at her with raised eyebrows but she just shook her head and moved on.
As she talked, Bob’s eyes started to droop and by the time she started to relate her parents story he had fallen sound asleep.
Alicia quit talking as soon as she noticed that Bob had dozed off and instead started humming a tune as she rose and checked the jars.
Stretching and yawning she glanced about and suddenly realized that she had a choice between the floor or a narrow piece of the bed as a place to sleep.
She gathered together the assorted clothes that were hanging about and made a makeshift mattress on the floor.
She had a quick wash in the basin then pulling off her boots she knelt down and stretched out on the thin pile of clothes.
The cabin was warm and exhausted by the days events she fell asleep in minutes.

Chapter 17

Sometime, in the middle of the night, Alicia awoke, she was cold and curled up lying mostly on the hard wooden floor.
She rearranged the clothes and lay down again but now that the cabin had cooled down she couldn’t get warm. She squirmed and wriggled about but the hard floor and the cold room gave her no respite.
Finally she muttered, “Oh to hell with it, I need to get some sleep.”
She stood up, pulled on a jacket from what had been her mattress and gingerly sat then stretched out on the bed at Bob’s side.
She cautiously rolled over facing away from him and closed her eyes.
Sleep was elusive for only a few minutes.
