16C sunny
The weather is starting to cool but still lots of sun. Maybe  storms in a few days?
M and others got away from Tsawassen around 8ish last night. I worked at the club, was a marker for the novice singles competition then we had our usual Friday pm social.
I received my copies of the last two books for review yesterday. I have noticed a number of typos in Water Borne and have been correcting them as we went along. I'll now have to do a revision before it can be ok'd for the market place.
The other one is ok and will release it today. Don't forget Lulu.com or Barnes and Noble to find what I've got out there.
So now: here are the last pages of Water Borne.

“Oh Bob, I am so stupid, I realized only an hour ago you might not know how to find me!”
Bob laughed. “Me too, but I would have found you eventually fire or no fire.”
“C’mon let’s go up to the cabin.”
“What about, your boxes? One each?”
“No, never mind we’ll get them later, come let’s go.”
They were both a little wet from their splashing meeting and as they hurried up the trail that they both new so well a drizzling rain started.
When they got to the cabin, Alicia stopped Bob at the door, “Turn around  and close your eyes I’ll guide you in.”
Bob looked at her quizzically, She grinned, “Go ahead, do as I say.”
Bob shrugged and turned around and closed his eyes.
She slowly backed him into the cabin and once inside she said, “Keep your eyes closed but you can turn around.”
Bob did as she said then after a few seconds she said, “Okay open your eyes.”
Bob stared in amazement. The cabin was bathed in the soft glow of several candles; the old stove was gone and in it’s place a small airtight heater and against one wall stood a small propane cook stove, an elegant old table had replaced the pole and plywood one, the old bed was not there, but one end of the room was curtained off and a corner of a bed could just be seen. The table was set with a white linen cloth, two glasses of wine were on the table with an open bottle between them.
“What, how, how the hell did you do all this!” Bob exclaimed. He walked around the whole cabin noting other smaller changes, he peeked into the small bedroom area and looked back quickly at Alicia when he saw that it contained a double bed. He saw her blush in the glow of the candles.
“Merry early Christmas Bob.”
Bob smiled and reached into his pocket, “This has been an unusual day but I just happen to have a an early present for you too which in its own way will make this a day that I hope neither of us will ever forget.”
Alicia hesitantly stepped forward as he took out what could only be a ring box.
He opened the box to reveal a stylized ring of entwined gold strands, it was topped by a dark blue stone lying in a bed of small diamonds, the stone had been crafted into a shape that looked suspiciously like a huckleberry.
Alicia stared so long at it then at Bob that he finally said, “I hope you li…”
She jumped forward and wrapped her arms around Bob as she cut him off, “Oh Bob it’s beautiful, it’s beautiful; is it a, a…?”
Bob hugged her tight, “Yes it’s an engagement ring, will you …”
“Yes, yes a thousand times yes!”
They stepped back and Bob slipped the ring onto her finger and they embraced once more, this time in unbridled passion.

The last candle was guttering out a long time later when they finally took their first sip of the waiting wine.

The End

And definitely a new beginning.
