21 C a high haze.
Racked wine, bowled, started a new project yesterday.
Most of today will be in Victoria as M is going in for day surgery.

that covers all the west coast of the Island and around the north end to the Port Hardy area.”
“Hey, you have been busy. When did you list your house?”
“Uh, well a week or so ago, I guess.”
“You guess?”
“Uh yeah, well it was the day after you told me about your contract.”
Alicia started to comment, then decided that she should not go there. “So when do you find out about the contract?”
It closes a week today, I heard there were only three bidders, I’m pretty sure I know who they are and they don’t worry me much, but anyway I didn’t bid really high as I expect I would have much lower overhead than either of the other two.”
“Sounds good, I really hope you get it.”
“Yeah me too.” He paused then said, “Hey Alicia, would you, uh would you like, uh can you; oh crap, how about coming with me when I go up to the cabin? I haven’t been there since I went fishing that day and I know it needs checking out.”
Alicia froze for a moment then said, “I, I don’t know Bob, how long will you be there?”
“Well if we got away early and the weather was nice, probably just for the day, at the most overnight.”
“Well, maybe, give me some time to think it over. When do you plan on going?”
“I can go anytime before this contract is let, actually I had thought about tomorrow or the next day.”
“I have a couple of errands to run and groceries to buy, I’ll call you back in about an hour.”
“Okay, bye for now.”
They both hung up.

Bob answered the phone on the first ring, “Hi, what have you decided?”
“Sure I’d love to go, but it’s too late in the day to go tomorrow.”
“Uh, well I could leave right now, I’d be at your place by eight or nine o’clock and we could leave first thing in the morning. I’ve checked the weather and there is no wind forecast.”
“Okay, I’ll have a late supper out for you and I’ll pack a picnic lunch for tomorrow.”
“Great, we can eat in Tofino when we get back, it was about an hours run each way in my old boat, I should be able to shave off a few minutes with this one.”
“Okay Bob, drive safe though.”
“Yep, will do, bye.”
Alicia bustled around, she decided that as it would be late, a light supper of a cheese omelet would be best. She prepared everything then put it in the fridge to cook later. Next she made sandwiches and made up a picnic cooler with the sandwiches, a couple of apples and a small bottle of white wine.
Being busy had kept her mind occupied but when the food preparations were all complete her mind kicked into gear and her excitement over seeing Bob and going on the excursion with him battled with her trepidation of what she was doing and her fear of letting her guard down.
‘Forget it dummy, you’ve made your decision, everything will be just fine.’ She muttered to herself.
