This is a TBM Avenger, they were used as torpedo bombers in WW2 but a number of them were converted to Air Tankers using retardent for fire fighting. (Some people call them water bombers). In 1964 I was an Air Attack officer and my fleet consisted of three of these. I rode around in a cessna 180 so we had to leave well ahead  as they had about twice the speed we did.
