4.5 C and o/c
In the am worked on trying to get friend Michaels Blog up and running but something has changed since I started this one and I get so far then get stuck. I think I may have to go to a different blog provider for him.
Bowled in the pm and then had the Todds here for appies, dinner and a short evening. We hit the hot tub later then off to bed.
There is one type of bird that has been consistent visitors for the past few weeks and I have now identified them as Cassin's Finch.
It's very still outside right now but the forecast is for more strong winds. Hope there are no power failures to challenge the cooking of turkeys.
Someone posted on Facebook this morning these words: "Love means you never have to say anything to each other because you are both looking at your smart phones." Think about it!
I remember when two people were having a conversation they both looked at each other and that was just a few years ago.
Today I'm going to add a short poem that my Dad wrote many years ago. I like to reproduce it now and then. It is written in a wordish style that most will recognize. It means no offence and actually it's folksyness helps drive the message home. Pardon my word inventions.

DON’T BE WHAT YOU AIN’T
De sunflower ain’t de
daisy and de melon ain’t de rose
Why is they all so
crazy to be sumfin else dat grows?
Jes stick to de place
you’re planted and do de bess you knows.
Be de sunflower or de
daisy, de melon or de rose.
Don’t be what yo ain’t,
jess yo be what yo is.
If you am not what
you are den you is not what you is
If you’re just a
little tadpole don’t you try to be a frog.
If you are de tail
don’t try to wag de dog.
Do a kindness, if you
can’t exhort and preach.
If you’re just a
little pebble don’t you try to be the beach
When a man is what he
isn’t den he isn’t what he is
And as sure as I’m a
talking he’s gwine to get his
De song thrush ain’t
de robin, de cat bird ain’t de jay
Why is dey all a
throbbin to out do each other’s day?
Jus sing the song God
gave you and let your heart be gay
Be de song thrush or
de robin de cat bird or de jay
