Kiwa Creek

I finished the transcription of the private project, just waiting for a few photos to insert.
Helped at the bowling BBQ. Last night went to neighbours, played canasta and raised a jigger of scotch. Very emotional day.

The two women finally met a few weeks later and both instantly felt a bond. They did some basic planning about the scattering, talked about the husband of one and the friend of the other and again promised to keep in touch.  The weeks passed as did that year, spring came and with it the birth of a baby boy to Roy’s son.  In June right on schedule a baby girl was born to Emma’s daughter.
Plans were firmed up and a date set for mid July for everyone to make the trek to Ruby Bay.  Roy’s family outnumbered those of Emma, but along with her and her immediate family some cousins and two aunts also came.  Even before they gathered at the shoreline, the group experienced a coming together, it was unexpected but a relief to all.  The one baby, the girl slept soundly through the brief ceremony, the other watched quietly, his eyes wide and solemn.
Later the group gathered at Emma’s home, stories of the history of the two families were told and the curious bonding continued.  When they parted that evening promises of remaining in touch were exchanged.
The promises made were not just empty gestures and as the years went by visits were exchanged, friendships were established and strengthened.
The two babies came to know each other as children, then teenagers but enough, for that is in the dawning and is the rest of the story.
