It was nice and warm yesterday and we didn't leave it (the park) at all. Got an hour or more at the pool reading in a lounge chair. In the evening we went to BINGO! Yes we did. Didn't win anything but did learn what can keep over a hundred senior citizens quiet for minutes on end - the sound of the bingo machine starting to roll.

BLUE HERON
He glides in at dusk
no great thrusting flight,
just a quick correction to contact,
then a settling of wings.
Enough day glow left
for me to see him
stand there, reflection wavering
in the onshore ripples.
Deadly, as his rapier bill
takes a dinner from the sea.
Beautiful cold eyed
predator of the shore.
