Bowled am and pm, then had friends from Sidney an C Saanich over plus some Ontarians who had come to our club to give m some extra coaching. Nothing like help from Canadian champs!
Had a BBQ and a nice visit.

Chapter 1

T

he DC 10 charged through the minus twenty degree temperature at 45,000 feet.  The man reclined in his seat in first class and stared out his window as fields, mountains, rivers and towns appeared then disappeared under and beyond the wings of the aircraft.  He stared but did not see as his mind was reliving the events of the past two months.

  He had just returned from a six-week project in Spain where he had developed a defense system against interface fires for two small towns surrounded by a large rural area. He had hoped to go on a weeklong alpine trek for a change of pace and some solitude.  He had only been home for a day when his phone rang, he didn’t answer on the first ring or the second or even the third but then as it shrilled for the fourth time he picked it up, a resigned expression on his face.
