Good day bowling for us yesterday. M won her game over one of the top lady bowlers in the club, her cousin won his third game as did I. This am all three of us are in our respective semi finals.
Out to another club for a sausage, bean and beer banquet.
 With friends from home.

Back in those days, many more people lived in the area and every fall there was a fall fair.  Well there was a man, I don’t know his name, but he lived almost where Cindy’s house is right now.  He grew pumpkins, they were an obsession with him.”
Brian’s Dad paused and as he did Cindy moved tight to Brian’s side and clamped her small hand onto his arm.  Brian felt something like a white flash go through his body. Neither spoke nor did they look at each other.
His Dad went on, “One day they were wandering about and came upon a couple of grouse, they tried to sneak up on them but all they did was succeed in scaring them over that cliff right there and down past the pumpkin patch.  They knew there would be no fresh grouse that night.  They stood there and almost in unison they each notched an arrow and let fly.  The largest pumpkin in the patch had caught their eyes.  A few minutes later, their arrows were all gone, the pumpkin and its neighbors looked like porcupines, then their laughter died and they looked at each other in dismay.  They bolted! They hid their bows and each headed for home.
Strangely enough nothing was ever said and there were no repercussions. But there were no pumpkins from that patch in the fall fair either.”
The adults all chuckled all the kids but two laughed uproariously.
Brian and Cindy finally turned and looked at each other, there eyes round.  It took two more years before Brian told his parents of his vision of his grandpa’s deed.
Later that evening as everyone was leaving, Cindy and Brian, moved apart from the others, and then true to her promise to her granny, Cindy told Brian that she had decided that when they grew up she was going to marry him, boy like he had no response. With tears in her eyes she pecked him on the cheek and ran into her house.
