When they arrived at the Camino Real, Marsh told Pablo to wait nearby.  He went into the lobby where Jesus immediately greeted him and took the bag from his hand.  Jesus led him down the hall and as Marsh was opening the door to his room, Jesus whispered, “The other room is this one right across the hall Senor. I have a key and will meet you there.”
Marsh nodded, held up two fingers and said, “Two minutes Jesus.” He then let himself into his original room.  He turned on the television and then quickly looked around the room.  Nothing seemed disturbed.  He checked and found the two ‘bugs’ he had found two days earlier.  He re-checked where he had looked before and found nothing changed.  He thought it was safe to assume that since the ‘bugs’ were still in place and apparently secure, that no one would place any more.  He went to the telephone and rang the front desk, “This is Senor Harding, I would like to move to a different room, one that has a terrace or balcony.” He listened to the response then added, “Tomorrow will be fine, you can have the bell boy move my belongings when the room is ready.”  He shut off the television and went out the door.  No one was in the hall, stepped across and rapped lightly on the door Jesus had indicated.  When the door opened he slipped inside.
He told Jesus about changing his room rather than just destroying the two ‘bugs’.  The old man nodded and said that he would be sure that it was he who would move Marsh’s things.
Then, “Senor, my grandson and I have found the man who hired the men to attack you.  We were able to persuade him to tell us who hired him to make the attack.”
“How did you do that Jesus?”
“It is of no matter Senor, we took him to where he could tell us without being overheard and he became convinced he should tell us.”
Realizing it was useless to pursue where and how, Marsh just nodded, “Very well Jesus.  What did he tell you?”
“He said that he received a telephone call from Raphael Montez, who you know.  He was paid five hundred dollars to have you attacked. That it must be done before he, Montez, returned to Mexico City”
