Thunder storm yesterday and rain off and on through the night. Just starting to realize that when preparing for certain things like funerals, the preperation never ends until the event is concluded, no matter what is done each day, there is always just a bit more. Then we will have the aftermath better known as "clean-up".
The little kids are off to sc hool and then on to the 'res' for the weekend, this is good as it would have been very difficult trying to deal with them through it all.
M's sister is back from her surgery. Apparently a hip replacement was actually never considered, just surgery to do some tissue mending and removing bone spurs. Recovery should be quick.
Family will be arriving through the day, but we still have a few things to do at the mortuary.
M in her usual fashion has completed all the notifications to agenies and other business affairs. So we are well ahead in that regard. When I do the eulogy, I shall start with the poem that M chose for the back of Alan's memorial card. It will have meaning for everyone.

Here it is:

And if I go while you’re still here… Know that I live on, vibrating to a different measure … behind a thin veil you cannot see through. You will not see me, so you may not have faith. I wait for the time when we can soar together again, - both aware of each other. Until then, live your life to the fullest. And when you need me, Just whisper my name in your heart, I will be there.
