Bowled on am, company finally left but didn't get away until after 12. Quick trip to Walmart and Costco. Drove into Glendale for the last Glitter night of the year, met a bunch of the Porter family there then all had dinner at Murphy's German schnitzel Haus. Great meal and a nice visit. 14 in total.home by 11.

I noticed and inquired why when we moved about the jungle, we always had a guard with us who was armed with a rifle and the universal machete. "In case of poachers"was the reply. Apparently in the past a large population of squatters had over time moved into the park. They tried to force them out but to no avail. So they were paid to leave. But over time they gradually filtered back and pirated wood and park denizens to create income.
By the end of the first week, I felt I had enough information to get started. The manual was easy enough and I worked on that while waiting for my rides and in the evenings. The protection plan required maps and any different land or forest (jungle) types or situations. I identified a promontory where I recommended a lookout be constructed for temporary use when needed. Patrol systems were put in place and a plan for a second tool cache and water storage were incorporated. While all this was going on, Maryann had taken on the job of teaching about 15 kids how to speak English and learn a bit of geography. This was at a tiny village about2 miles down the guayaquillhighway. Port Hondo. Pronounced portondo.
