More training in am then bowled in pm. To harbor freight with the Wallace's. Great place for all kinds of tools. Visited with our visitors then in bed by 9.
We flew from Vancouver to Dallas/Ft.Worth then on to Guayaquil. We're met at the airport by our contact person and driven by her chauffeur to Cerro Blanco, about a half hour drive. There we met Eric who was the park administrator and to whom I would report to. After introductions, he escorted us to what was to be our home during our stay. It was about a half miłe into the jungle on a narrow access road, it proved to be a small stucco building with 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a kitchen/ living room. It was quaint but quite suitable. While we were unloading our suitcases a young woman of about 20 arrived. She was to be our cook and maid. She and M took to each other right off.
Right next to our cabin was another small building which was the gathering spot for the park guards.
There were 12 of these fellows that through shift work provided care for the park 24 hours a day. They all packed machetes at all times and were dressed in a khaki uniform. They would also become the Center of the group I was to train.
