PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. – WorkSafeBC is recommending charges under the Workers Compensation Act in connection with a fatal explosion of a mill in Prince George in 2012.
Spokesman Scott McCloy confirms that the agency sent the information to Crown on Wednesday.
He says Crown will make a decision to approve or reject the recommended charges by late April.
McCloy says he could not provide further details, citing legal concerns.
The explosion at Lakeland Mills killed 43-year-old Alan Little and 46-year-old Glenn Roche and occurred months after a similar incident in Burns Lake.
Similar charges were also recommended after WorkSafeBC investigated the Burns Lake mill explosion, but were thrown out in part due to a flawed investigation by the provincial agency.
