16C some sun mostly high O/C
Well today is the day I said I would have more story ready, but I'm afraid I couldn't get motivated this past week. Somehow the mental desire just wasn't there. WE have been trying to catch up with a yard thathas grown wild and other duties at the bowls club and these things have sort have been the focus,
AS a poor appeasement I have reproduced a poem from last summer.
PRAIRIE STORM
All morning twas sunny and warm
Then a black line appeared in the sky far west of the farm
Aafter lunch things seemed to change
A storm was brewing beyond our range.
The clouds mounted higher and higher
Thunder could be heard as the storm drew nigher
The sky then turned blacker and blacker
There was a flash and a bang like an exploding firecracker.
A wind caressed our upturned faces
Then screamed across the open places
It tore at the trees and whipped the lake
The old house gave a shuddering shake
In the clouds of black
We searched for a tail, forward and back
The black clouds sank lower and lower
The dogs and cats found places to cower
A tremendous bolt lanced down to the ground
Our ears were deafened by exploding sound
The bolt it shivered and shook for seconds or more
Then rain arrived in a fearsome downpour
A funnel cloud was now no threat to us
The fear we had was now unjust
But rain will stay till tomorrow’s dawn
