23C mostly sunny
Well Jayke has gone back home, he was starting to get attached here.
Started resurrecting a book I had published but didn't like the layout so cancelled it some time ago. Will work on it later.
Electrical storm last night, funny I still get that feeling when I see lightning and think of fires out there somewhere.

He turned and went out the door, got in the car and said to Jim, “Go, go now!”

EPILOGUE

(i)
Several minor glitches frustrated Bob in the first couple of weeks after he returned home.
Because his credit cards had been cancelled some of his bills had not been paid and already three bill collection agencies had been active. In due course he dealt with these and was satisfied that all interest charges were dropped when the circumstance of his situation were made known.
He phoned Alicia two evenings after he had left her at her front door. Their conversation was stilted and very casual in the beginning but became more relaxed after a time.
He made up his mind that he would phone her twice a week but choose not to tell her but to just do it. After the first two weeks she realized what he was doing and made every effort to be near the phone on those evenings.
About a month after his departure Alicia had an offer of a direct short term contract to investigate some bear poaching. She accepted it as it was quite lucrative and she was already very restless with being house bound and even town bound.
She told Bob about it the first evening he phoned after her acceptance and told him she would be away for the next two weeks but would phone him when she got back.
When she told him he said, “Jesus Alicia, these guys will have guns, I don’t think you should ….!”
She cut him off, “Don’t be silly, I’m trained for this stuff, I have an open warrant and I will have guns as well! Besides at this point I’ll be only trying to collect evidence.”
“Well can’t you have a cell phone with you, we could stay in touch?”
“No I can’t do that. Don’t worry The wildlife folks will know where I am and I will be in touch with them by radio every night.”
She changed the subject and said she thought she might stop by the cabin as it was just a little out of her way to where she was going.
“You’re changing the subject, Alicia. Just be careful, please be careful.”
“I will dar, uh, uh Bob. I’ll call you the moment I can.”
